Appearance: Lelouch is a tall, slender teenager with black (or dark auburn) hair and deep, purple eyes. He has an almost delicate frame, and as Lelouch is not a very physically strong person, this makes sense. He's 5'10", has sharp facial features that make him appear very intense (especially when he's angry or insane).

At the time of Lelouch's arrival at Econtra, he is dressed as Zero, the alias Lelouch has taken up as a terrorist to the Britannian government in Japan. As Zero, Lelouch is dressed in a dark blue unitard with flared leg bottoms and sleeves. It has a gold pattern, on the top part along the edges where the outfit zips up, then down the middle of the pants. The cuffs are also lined with gold fabric, and the sleeve ends are a lighter blue with a fancy gold fabric design on it. Around his neck, Lelouch (as Zero) wears a white cravat with a dark scarf pin in the middle. Under this is a thin black material that he usually wears pulled up over his face, up to below his eyes. Over the unitard, Zero wears a cape that reaches near the bottom of his pants. The top of the cape flares up around his head, and the cape clasps together on the right, near his shoulder. The cape is dark blue like the rest of his outfit, with gold lining; the inside of the cape is red. On his head, Zero wears a mask that goes over his head, like a helmet. The front of the mask is a large purple oval through which Zero can see, and yet prevents anyone from seeing his face. The rest of the helmet is black; the face of the mask is round, but at the top, and on both sides of his face, it spikes up. The back of the mask can retract when he slips it off, otherwise the mask is generally secured on his head. There is a portion of the front of the mask, right in front of his left eye, that can pull away. On his hands, Lelouch wears black gloves.

Personality: The first thing one possibly thinks when thinking of Lelouch is how cool he is- cool in the sense that at school he is a little bit distanced from his fellow classmates as though he isn't quite like them, cool in the way he directs battles with a clear head and a calm demeanor. Lelouch is just cool in the way he handles himself in situations...well, most situations. He's the kind of person who carries himself through life unruffled by its smaller trials and tribulations...but under the surface is hiding something secret, something possibly dangerous, that when it comes out, causes him to lose his composure entirely.

Lelouch does have a bit if insanity to him, though whether this is connected to the geass or not is hard to say. Whenever he is emotionally moved from his usual composure, when he thinks clearly, when everything he plans goes the way he wants, he tends to freeze up. He doesn't take the failure of his plans very well, when an unforeseen piece enters the playing field. But he soon gains his compusure back, puts his head back on, and focuses on the task at hand.

He is a very determined person who does care about certain people, enough for his emotions to get the better of him when those person are hurting...especially when that suffering is caused by him. When he first accepts the geass, he believes he is prepared for whatever is to come, but when his friend Shirley's father is killed as a result of his actions as Zero, Lelouch feels guilt. But he is prepared and he knows that the lives he takes cannot be allowed to be wasted- to give up would make their deaths meaningless.

Still, Lelouch is human, with human dreams and human emotions; human faults. And when he watches his best friend and his possible first love both die as a result of his actions and words, Lelouch doubts himself, doubts the nobility of his cause. He despairs and goes a little mad with grief and confusion. His usually calm appearance is all but thrown away at the time he arrives in Econtra (see more details in history to understand why Lelouch is out of his mind with guilt).

Abilities/Strengths: Lelouch's special ability is a power called Geass. He got it from the girl C.C., when they bound a contract- she gave him the "Power of the King" and in return he would fulfill her greatest wish (though what that is isn't stated at the time). The Geass Lelouch receives from C.C. gives him the power to command anyone to do anything- within certain limitations. The rules on Lelouch's geass are:
-He can only use the geass on a person one time.
-He must have direct eye contact with the victim, though indirect eye contact via a mirror or other reflective surface also works.
-The victim is bound by their mental and physical capablities- asking someone something they don't know anything about will yield no answer.
-The geass works within a 270 meter radius.
-Lelouch can give as many orders as he likes as long as he continues to keep direct eye contact with the person- once the contact is broken, he cannot use the power again on that person.
-He may use the geass on as many people as he likes, as long as the above conditions are followed.
-The victim retains no memories of the time the geass was active.
-Lelouch can never use the geass on C.C., as she is the only one who cannot be affected by it.
The geass is the power that gives Lelouch the ability to begin his rebellion against Britannia sooner than he had anticipated. Currently, the geass has permenantly activated, meaning that Lelouch no longer has control over the geass.

Other than the geass, Lelouch has a genius-level intellect, and he is capable of devising and exectuting plans at lightning speed, the reason he is such a formidable chess player and, later on, such a great war strategist. He is also a good speaker, shown through his ability to gain supporters whi trust and willing follow him, despite not ever seeing his face (though others are much more loyal and trusting than others.)

Weapons: A gun; Gawain, a Knightmare Frame (which he did not bring with him to Econtra)

Weaknesses: Lelouch's main weakness is his younger sister Nunnally, who is both crippled (gun shots to her legs) and blind (due to the trauma of her mother's death). She is the most important person in Lelouch's life, and the reason for him to rebel against Britannia. He wishes to create a world for Nunnally to live in, where she will be happy. She is also the person he would most hate to lie to.

Another weakness is his mother, and her mysterious death. He is hellbent on finding out who was responsible for her murder, and that is also one of his main reasons for fighting Britannia.

A third weakness are his friends, but most importantly is Kururugi Suzaku, his best friend from childhood, and whom Lelouch cannot bear to fight against. He wanted Suzaku at one point to join him (as Zero) in his rebellion against Britannia. When Lelouch first discovered that the pilot of the white knight was Suzaku(Lancelot, and a thorn in the side of the Black Knights from the beginning) -if it had been a random nobody, Lelouch would have had no problem issuing the death of that person, but upon seeing his opponent was Suzaku, he froze up, and ordered his men to retreat, despite them asking him if they ought to kill the pilot. Suzaku is one of the people Lelouch likes and trusts most, and so to discover he was fighting against him was a serious blow to him.
